As part of the global commemoration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025, the Forward in Action for Education, Poverty, and Malnutrition (FACEPAM), in partnership with the Network on Water and Sanitation (NEWSAN), carried out impactful menstrual hygiene awareness campaigns in Bauchi state.

The outreach began at Birshin Fulani Secondary School in Bauchi State, where students were sensitized on the importance of menstrual hygiene management. Discussions covered key topics such as understanding the menstrual cycle, proper use and disposal of sanitary products, and breaking the stigma and myths associated with menstruation. At the end of the session, sanitary pads were distributed to students, and a donation of pads was made to the school’s pad bank to support girls who may not have access to menstrual products.
