YOU CAN BE A HANDWASHING HERO
CASCADE Nigeria celebrated World Food Day with women from Jahun, Jigawa State. The theme was "Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future."The event aimed to raise awareness about hunger and malnutrition. It aligns with CASCADE's goal to improve food security and reduce malnutrition among women and children.
The women showcased their cooking skills, preparing nutritious meals like orange fleshed sweet potato porridge, vegetable rice, dambu, awara, danwake, and moringa leaves salad using ingredients from their farms and gardens.

FAcE-PaM & CASCADE Nigeria marked Global Handwashing Day 2025 at Dabi PHC, Ringim LGA, Jigawa State, celebrating with women and community members. This year’s theme, “YOU CAN BE A HANDWASHING HERO,” is a powerful reminder that simple actions save lives. At CASCADE, one of our core goals is to strengthen community structures for better hygiene and health. Through awareness and practical demonstrations, we continue to promote regular handwashing as a key habit to prevent diseases and protect families.

Empowering Change from Within Through Social Analysis and Action (SAA)
CASCADE Nigeria is witnessing powerful transformations in our communities, led by women, supported by men, and felt by all. Today, we celebrate women in Village Savings and Loans Associations who have completed their Social Analysis and Action journey and are now champions of equality, dialogue, and collective action. Their courage is reshaping homes and communities.

Monitoring Visit by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
As part of the ongoing efforts to ensure sustainability and accountability in community water projects, representatives of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints conducted a monitoring visit to Mabudi, Dadin Kowa, and Garkawa communities. During the Visit a joint meeting was held with community leaders, WASHCOMs, Village Health Promoters (VHPs), artisans, LGA representatives, and the funder’s team led by Mr. Isaac Mensa and Mr. Chidi.

In line with our commitment to promoting sustainable access to clean and safe water, FAcE-PaM successfully organized a three-day training for local artisans drawn from Mabudi, Dadin kowa and Garkawa communities.

Funded by The Sanitation and Hygiene Fund through WaterAid Nigeria.

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen food systems and empower women in agriculture, the CASCADE Nigeria Project, in collaboration with the African Seed Company, organized a two-day intensive training on Soybean Production for women lead farmers in Dutse, Jigawa State.

The Executive Director of FAcE - PaM, along with members of the project implementation team, conducted a monitoring visit to assess the progress of the ongoing WASH infrastructure development in Dadin Kowa and Mabudi communities. During the visit: • In both communities, solar panels were being installed and tested through the pumping of water to ensure functionality and efficiency. • In Dadin Kowa, additional works included the painting of the facility gate and welding of the staircase leading to the elevated water storage tanks. • The reticulation system has been completed, ensuring water can be effectively distributed. • Tiling work at the water collection point was also completed, enhancing hygiene and accessibility standards at the site. The visit served to confirm that construction activities are progressing according to specifications and contributing toward the project’s goals.

As part of the global commemoration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025, the Forward in Action for Education, Poverty, and Malnutrition (FACEPAM), in partnership with the Network on Water and Sanitation (NEWSAN), carried out impactful menstrual hygiene awareness campaigns in Bauchi state.

The training which was conducted on the 19 and 20/01/2022. was aimed at improving Health Care Worker's knowledge on IFAS. In attendance were 20 Health Care Workers from the two LGAs of the project implementation, FAcE- PaM and SWODEN (TCDI) Teams.

A training for Healthcare workers in Kano State on Diarrhea Management, BCI Strategy and Gender norms took place last week in the Kano city.
The training, which is aimed at equipping Healthcare workers with knowledge and skills on managing Diarrhea for the promotion of Zinc LO-ORS, had in attendance 22 participants, comprising of CHEWS, TBA’s and VCM’s and Partners (NI state Coordinator, WBFA State Lead, Training facilitators, FAcE-PaM and SWODEN teams).

The editorial board of Daily Asset newspaper, Abuja has selected the executive secretary, Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Professor Suleiman Bogoro as public servant of the year 2021. Bogoro’s selection as public servant of the year was due to his refocused ambition in the pursuit of rehabilitating decaying infrastructure in tertiary institutions and the construction of new ones that are relevant to the development of learning in public tertiary institutions across the country.

Y. & Company, a Business and Management Consultancy Group in Bauchi, Titi Yakubu, has rated very high the level of commitment and teamwork of FAcE-PaM (Forward In Action for Education, Poverty and Malnutrition) staff in working to actualize the vision and mission of their organisation.

THE Forward In Action for Education, Poverty and Malnutrition (FAce-PaM), a Non-Governmental Organization based in Bauchi State has commenced its empowerment Programme that will impact the lives of children, women and the less privileged in Jigawa and other States in the North East and North West Nigeria.

The activity took place 9th at bayan gari community of Bauchi, Bauchi State. And the objective of the activity is to sensitize the people of bayan gari community on 16 days activism against gender base violence, provide them with an insight on GBV and how to take measures of protection and some procedures to be taken to help the GBV survivors, like taking them to the hospital for necessary tests and to also make sure justice is done.

Global Affairs Canada (GAC) team field visit to monitor progress of project implementation.

LINE's baseline survey revealed that dietary diversity of household beneficiary is poor especially in the area of animal protein consumption. Women from vulnerable farmer households were thus trained on poultry care / management and supplied with noiler birds to promote access and consumption of meat and eggs.
